چکیده

Physical activity is well known to induce free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS). There are enzymatic and non-enzymatic defense systems against ROS in aerobic organisms. The aim of this study was to investigate the acute effect of eccentric and concentric training on activities of the antioxidant enzymes in physical education student's blood samples. Twenty four females students volunteers participated in the study who were randomly assigned to three groups: control (age 20.52 ± 0.18 year, BMI 21.15 ± 0.43 kg/m ), eccentric 2 training group (age 21.37±0.49 year, BMI 20.82±0.49 kg/m ) and concentric training group (age 20.66±0.36 year, 2 BMI 21.46±0.58 kg/m ). Blood samples, collected 1h before and immediately after training and analyzed for 2 activities of the antioxidant enzymes, glutathione peroxides (GPx), glutathione educates (GR). The results shows no significant differences were found in GR activities between the groups. There was an significant (p<0.05) increase in GPx activities compared to control group (p<0.05). However after concentric training, an significant (p<0.05) increase was observed in GPx activities compared to before training and total Hb levels increase after training compared with before training. In conclusion may the eccentric and concentric training show an improved in blood antioxidant enzyme activities.

Effects of Concentric and Eccentric Strength Training on Electromyography Activity of the Knee Agonist –Antagonist Muscle

Purpose: An appropriate activity of the knee agonist -antagonist muscles is important to resist against abnormal abduction-adduction moments loads around knee joint and reduce the risk of knee injuries. Exercise training has been commonly used as an intervention to improve neuromuscular activity within the synergic and/or agonist-antagonist muscles. However, maximizing the effectiveness of exer...

Effect of high intensity interval training and continus training on antioxidant enzymes in the heart of the old rats

Background and Objective: Aging is associated with increased free radical production. On the other hand, sports activities with the improvement of antioxidant system can reduce the damage caused by aging. This study was performed to determine the effect of the coantinus training (MCT) and high intensity interval training (HIIT) on antioxidant enzymes in the heart of old rats. Methods: This exp...

Effect of eccentric exercise-induced muscle damage on electro-myographyic activity of quadriceps in untrained healthy females

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate muscle damage indicators and electromyography activities of quadriceps muscles at 25° of hip flexion in untrained healthy females after an eccentric exercise induced muscle fiber damage.   Methods : A total of 14 healthy females participated in this pre-experimental study. The subjects performed maximal eccentric quadriceps contractions at ...

Changes of stress oxidative enzymes in rat mammary tissue, blood and milk after experimental mastitis induced by E. coli lipopolysaccharide

The present study investigated the effects of E. coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced mastitis model in rat on the activity of antioxidant enzyme systems. To achieve this purpose, E. coli LPS were infused into the mammary gland of 12 rats 72 hr postpartum and compared with 12 rats in control group infused intramammary placebo sterile pyrogene – free, physiological saline. The...
